Energy Freedom Alabama works to advance legislation enabling third-party ownership, a policy that allows you to buy energy from a source other than your current electricity provider. This has many proven benefits, including:

• Removing the upfront cost of clean energy like solar, expanding access to more people

• Increasing competition— because you are not allowed to purchase energy from a lower cost provider, the incumbent utility has little-to-no incentive to offer you better products and services

• Creating jobs— After enacting a limited third party ownership policy, solar jobs in Virginia have grown substantially
